~Glam Slam: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley In Marios Schwab~

“We all have a face that we hide away forever,
And we take them out and show ourselves when everyone has gone.
Some are satin, some are steel, some are silk and some are leather.
They're the faces of the stranger and we love to try them on.”
-"The Stranger" (Billy Joel)

Although Rosie Huntington-Whitely has always seemed too "mannequin-ish" for me, she definitely deserves "Glam Slam" recognition for her choice of a Marios Schwab leather dress with lace trim and black Louboutin stilettos for an appearance in Osaka Japan... This design of the frock is flawless, the combination of leather and lace (eyelash lace to be exact...my favorite) is executed perfectly. The T-strap back and over all detailing makes it stand apart from the other million leather dresses out there. It's like "Haute Couture" meets "Biker Chic"... And I love it.

"A guy named Steve Rubell had a dream: To throw the best damned party the world had ever seen and to make it last forever. He built a world where fantasy was put up as reality and where an 80-year-old disco queen could dance till dawn. Where models mingled with mechanics, plumbers danced with princes. It was a place where all labels were left behind. A place where there were no rules."
-"54" (1998)

There is something about the editorial "Afternoon Lady" in Numero Magazine's #125 issue that makes me think of Bianca Jagger, Jerry Hall, The 70s and Studio 54... Maybe it's the white horse *Iggi shrug* Whateva... It's fab.

"Even if a snake is not poisonous, it should pretend to be venomous."
-Chanakya

I was admiring a new pair of snakeskin pumps I had bought last week, trying to build an outfit around them, and while staring at the gorgeous shoe I realized... "I want my nails to match my stilettos dammit. I want snakeskin nails!!" I wasn't really sure if it was possible so I decided to google it and see if there were any other women out there with the same manicure desire as myself... Lo and behold there are a ton of options for a snakeskin manicure and a lot of different styles. I fell in love. I will be making an appointment asap. Have a look at some of the choices and styles for a reptilian nail and let me know what you think...

"When you’re removing your shoes, there’s the possibility you might remove more"
-Dita Von Teese

"God Save My Shoes", written and directed by Julie Benasra, is a documentary about the relationship between women and shoes starring: Kelly Rowland, Fergie, Dita Von Teese, Christian Louboutin, Manolo Blahink, Pierre Hardy, Bruno Frisoni, Walter Steiger, Monica Von Neuman, Beth Shak, Elzabeth Semmelhack, Filipa Fino, Valerie Steele, Meghan Cleary, Nikki Schiro, and Vivienne Westwood. Just to name a few...

The soleful documentary airs in France on Oct 4th and is approximately 60 minutes. Wait!! 60 minutes of nothing but shoes?! And you call it a documentary?! I guess...if you say so. I mean, apparently one woman's porn is another woman's documentary. This flick definitely sounds like porn to me and this shoe slut can't wait to watch it...

~The Best Of Amy Winehouse... She Had Style And Soul: Rest In Peace~

"I'm a musician. I'm not someone who's trying to be diplomatic, you know, trying to get my 15 minutes. I'm just a musician who is honest."
-Amy Winehouse

Today we lost a great talent... Amy Winehouse died at the young age of 27. A while back I had written a post about the soulful singer and how she had been looking better at the time than she had looked in a while and posted one of my favorite Winehouse videos "Fuck Me Pumps". Songs like that are the reason that although she is gone in body she is actually, essentially... immortal. Her talent and the music she left behind will enable her to live forever. I know that I personally will always love and listen to her music and all I can really say about a situation like this is that I hope she is at peace and in a much better place. I just wish she didn't have to go so very young...

She really was beautiful... And had a unique and distinct style:

And beyond talented... Here are some of my favorites:

"Fuck Me Pumps"

"Tears Dry On Their Own"

"You Know I'm No Good"

"Back To Black"

"Valerie" (Live)
